Project layover

Project “The Cure” aims to revive the active Sport Culture in Europe and promote the sport and physical activities as a tool for health (such as Cycling) as a way to combat physical inactivity and one of its most common derived chronic diseases, diabetes (type 2).

Cycling, has always been considered among the most popular traditional European sport that continues to gain momentum these days due to its advantages: flexibility, traffic efficiency and environmental friendliness. Grand tours such as the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España continue to enjoy increased popularity, whilst more attention has been paid to making roads more bike-friendly across Europe – these are the important foundations for launching our projects.

On the other hand, our project will strive to propose solutions taking into account the underlying empirical reasons why people do not exercise as much as they should. The Eurobarometer report highlights the most prominent causes as “not having time” and “lacking motivation or interest”. Such known barriers will bring around two solutions:

- to make people aware of the benefits and give priority to sports and physical activities
- to render Sports activity more fun and engaging to all participants (regardless of gender, age, etc.)
